Pranayama, when understood correctly, becomes a powerful tool to influence the nervous system, bring mental clarity and emotional balance and establish oneself in inner stability.

This 2-hour workshop offers a clear, structured, and experiential understanding of the Science of Pranayama.

Session 1:

What Prana really means?

The relationship between breath, nervous system and the mind

How Pranayama affects:

  • Stress response & emotional regulation
  • Focus, energy levels & sleep
  • Hormonal and autonomic balance

Session 2:

Understanding Puraka, Rechaka, Kumbhaka in a scientific & yogic context

Gentle preparatory techniques – Yogic breathing, Sectional breathing

Foundational practices suitable for daily life – Nadi Shudhi Pranayama, Bhramari Pranayama, Ujjayi Pranayama, Chandra and Surya Viloma & Bhedana.

Cooling and Balancing techniques – Seethali, Seethkari, Sama Vritti Pranayama.

Dr. Shubha Chetan

With a heart rooted deeply in yogic learning and inner growth, Shubha brings a balanced and sincere presence into every class she teaches.

Shubha enjoys teaching all age groups, finding joy simply in the act of teaching itself. She describes her motivation humbly — she teaches because it makes her feel happy, and that happiness inspires her to give her very best each time.

Outside her formal practice, she finds joy in reading, both fiction and subjects close to her heart, and singing, which adds a gentle creative rhythm to her life.
Grounded, sincere, and always learning, she brings authenticity and depth to her teaching — creating a space where students feel supported, inspired, and gently guided towards their own inner journey.

Shubha is a certified Ayurvedic doctor and that adds another dimension to her persona. She has been supporting the institute since its inception and brings vast experience and knowledge in the space of Yoga and Ayurveda.
