1. ABOUT BHARAT YOGAVIDYA KENDRA
Bharat Yogavidya Kendra (BYK), founded in 2022 by Sri M — realized spiritual master, social reformer, and author — is a premier yoga institute dedicated to preserving the Nath lineage and the wisdom of traditional yoga. BYK operates as part of the ecosystem of The Satsang Foundation, founded by Sri M, and shares its campus and spirit.
BYK is inspired by the Nath tradition, to which Sri M belongs. The Naths have long preserved authentic yogic practices, and foundational texts such as the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Gheranda Samhita, and Shiva Samhita — which still guide modern yoga teachers today — belong to this stream. Our teaching remains faithful to that current: grounded in scripture, tested in practice, and free of superficial trends.
Vision: Well-being for all through Yoga.
Mission: To bring about change in the minds and bodies of people so they can explore their physical and mental potential through Yoga.
BYK offers online daily classes (Yoga Sadhana — Asana, Pranayama & Meditation, Balavidya for children, Purnima & Ekadashi Meditation), study courses (Yoga Sangha, Bhagavad Gita Study Circle, Mantra Sadhana), self-paced explorations of classical texts (Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Shiva Samhita, Yoga Sutras), thematic workshops, retreats, and our flagship 200-Hour Residential Teacher Training Course (TTC) alongside a Children’s Yoga TTC (online).
Our teaching stands on five living principles: holistic transformation for all, the journey of self- discovery, Samvaad (open dialogue as a path to understanding), a scientific and authentic approach (in Sri M’s words, “no mumbo jumbo”), and personalized guidance. As Sri M reminds us: “Go to the core. Theories are of no use.”
2. ROLE OVERVIEW
We are hiring three Senior Yoga Teachers to strengthen our teaching faculty and help expand BYK’s reach across India and beyond. This is a senior, hands-on role — combining regular teaching, teacher training delivery, curriculum design, and creation of digital content that carries the Kendra’s voice into the wider world.
You will bring years of practice and teaching experience to a small, focused faculty. You will hold group and one-on-one classes, lead modules within our Teacher Training Courses (TTC), co-author teaching manuals and slide decks, and appear on camera for our YouTube channel and social platforms. This role is ideal for a mature teacher who wants creative freedom, meaningful ownership, and a long-term home for their teaching within a lineage-rooted institution.

3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching
- Deliver daily group yoga classes across levels — asana, pranayama, kriya, meditation, and philosophy — as scheduled, primarily online from your home base.
- Conduct one-on-one sessions and small-group personalised programs where required.
- Adapt teaching for online and in-person formats without compromising depth, safety, or theintegrity of the tradition.
- Follow the Kendra’s teaching guidelines, class formats, and quality standards for all sessions.
Teacher Training Courses (TTC)
- Lead and co-lead modules within our 200-Hour Residential TTC at the Madanapalle campus and within our online Children’s Yoga TTC.
- Contribute to future advanced TTCs (300 / 500-hour) as they roll out.
- Mentor trainee teachers through practicum, assisted teaching, and evaluations.
- Help set academic standards and assessment rubrics for the TTC program.
Curriculum & Content
- Write and refine teaching manuals, class sequences, and student handouts grounded in classical texts (Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Gheranda Samhita, Shiva Samhita, Yoga Sutras).
- Design accompanying presentation decks (PowerPoint / Keynote) and basic visual assets in Canva.
- Contribute to designing new short courses, retreats, and thematic workshops.
Video & Social Media
- Create teaching videos for the BYK YouTube channel — full-length classes, tutorials, and philosophy explainers.
- Appear in short-form content for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other platforms.
- Collaborate with the content team on scripts, thumbnails, and release plans.
- Contribute occasionally to Yogavidya, BYK’s monthly newsletter, and to the blog.
Community, Mentorship & Travel
- Mentor students beyond the classroom — supporting their sadhana, questions, and long-term growth.
- Host occasional Q&A sessions, satsangs, and community events (online and, when needed, in person).
- Travel to different cities as and when required to conduct yoga sessions, workshops, and outreach programs, and to represent BYK at select external forums.
- Travel to our Yogashala at the Madanapalle campus for residential TTCs, retreats, content shoots, and periodic faculty gatherings.
4. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Yoga Alliance certification — mandatory. RYT-500 preferred. E-RYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) status at either RYT-200 or RYT-500 level is a strong plus. Candidates with only RYT-200 will be considered only in exceptional cases where other criteria are exceeded.
- Minimum 6 years of full-time yoga teaching experience.
- Demonstrated experience conducting Teacher Training Courses (TTC) — as lead or senior faculty, not merely as an assistant.
- Consistent track record of delivering daily yoga classes to group and individual students.
- Ability to independently create teaching manuals, PowerPoint decks, and basic visual designs using Canva.
- Willingness and comfort creating teaching videos for YouTube and short-form content for Instagram Reels, Shorts, and similar platforms.
- Strong spoken and written English.
- Proficiency in one or more Indian languages (Kannada, Tamil, or Hindi) is a significant plus.
- A grounded personal sadhana and adherence to the ethical foundations of the tradition (yama, niyama).
- Familiarity with, or sincere openness to, the Nath tradition and the classical texts that anchor our teaching.
5. PREFERRED SKILLS
- Comfortable designing simple graphics, posters, and slide layouts in Canva.
- Comfortable on camera — clear diction, warm presence, ability to teach to a lens as naturally as to a room.
- Familiarity with basic video recording setups (phone or DSLR), lighting, and light editing tools.
- Social media literacy — understanding of what resonates on Instagram, YouTube, and short- form platforms without compromising authenticity.
- Experience hosting workshops, retreats, or thematic intensives (e.g., pranayama immersions, philosophy modules, therapeutic yoga).
- Background in a specific classical lineage is welcome — we honour lineage while remaining grounded in the Nath stream.
- Basic understanding of yoga therapy, anatomy, and safe adaptation for injuries and special populations.
- Comfort teaching children (Balavidya / Children’s Yoga TTC) is an added advantage.
6. LOCATION & WORK ARRANGEMENT
- Employment Type: Full-time employee of Bharat Yogavidya Kendra. Remote-first.
- Primary Work Setup: Teachers conduct online classes from their homes, following the Kendra’s guidelines for class structure, quality, and student experience.
- Yogashala & Residential Programs: Our Yogashala is located at The Satsang Foundation Campus,
- Nakkaladdini, Kumarapuram, Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh – 517325. All residential TTCs, retreats, and on-ground intensives are held at this Madanapalle campus.
- Location Preference: We prefer candidates based in Bangalore or Chennai so that travel to the Madanapalle campus for residential programs and periodic on-campus commitments is practical and manageable. Bangalore is also home to BYK’s registered office.
- Travel: Teachers should be open to traveling to different cities as and when required, to conduct sessions, workshops, or represent the Kendra, in addition to periodic travel to the Madanapalle campus.
- Working Hours: Class schedules will span Indian and, occasionally, overseas time zones. Reasonable flexibility is expected on both sides.
7. WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive market salary. Compensation reflects seniority, teaching load, and TTC responsibilities.
- Creative freedom to shape curriculum, class formats, and content in collaboration with the faculty, within the Nath tradition’s framework.
- A clear growth path — pathways into Lead Faculty, TTC Director, or Head of Teaching roles as the Kendra grows.
- A mission-driven team that takes yoga seriously as a living tradition and takes its teachers seriously as long-term partners.
- Visibility — your teaching will reach students across India and internationally through BYK’s digital channels and its far-reaching alumni network.
- Continued learning — access to internal study circles, senior mentors, and periodic study of classical texts under the guidance of the Kendra’s teachers.
- Supportive infrastructure — production, design, and operations support so you can focus on teaching.
- Proximity to a living master — the rare privilege of teaching within an institution guided by Sri M.
