Live yoga classes, in a living tradition

A graded path of asana — practised live, morning and evening, the way it was meant to be.

These are BYK’s live yoga classes in the Nath lineage of Sri M — on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with Pranayama & Yoga Nidra carrying the practice through Tuesday and Thursday. Not exercise for its own sake, but a discipline to refine the breath, steady the mind, and awaken awareness. Two published sequences — Foundation and Intermediate — give you a clear path from your first class to a lifetime of deepening practice.

Part of the BYK Sadhaka Membership

This practice isn’t sold on its own

Your yoga classes come as part of one membership — together with Pranayama & Yoga Nidra, Yoga Sangha and the lunar meditations. One fee, both levels, everything included.

How the practice is structured
A clear path, not a random class

You begin where you are, follow a standardised sequence drawn from the classical Hatha texts, and progress when your teacher feels you’re ready — the traditional gurukula way. Moving from Foundation to Intermediate carries no extra fee.

Start here · new to yoga

YogaM Foundation

A guided 21-day on-ramp that introduces the breath, the body and the basics, so you step into the live classes with confidence. A new batch opens each month.

The daily practice

Foundation Series

71 standardised asanas with Surya & Chandra Namaskar, pranayama, mudras and bandhas. Accessible to beginners, taught with modifications, and deep enough to sustain for years.

When you’re ready

Intermediate Series

94 asanas extending the Foundation into deeper backbends, arm balances, inversions and advanced pranayama, mudras and bandhas. You join when your teacher feels you’re ready — at no extra cost.

Why one membership
A practice is one river, not four streams

Asana steadies the body. The breath gathers the mind. Yogic rest restores it. Scripture lights the path. Chanting and meditation bring stillness. These were never meant to be bought as separate courses — they are one practice, supporting each other. As a Sadhaka member, you receive all of it, at whatever level you practise.

“Asanas and pranayama help to bring changes in you so that not only you are physically healthy, but also your mind becomes calm.” ~Sri M

Find your level
Who each level is for

This is a practice you settle into, not rush through. Here’s who each level suits, and how long you can expect to grow within it.

Foundation Series

Ideal for: practitioners with a little experience already — roughly 2–6 months of yoga — who are comfortable on the mat and ready to commit to a steady daily sadhana. Brand new to yoga? Begin with YogaM first, then step in here.

How long you’ll grow here: 1–2 years. The 71-asana sequence is rich enough to keep refining for that long — you’re not finishing it, you’re letting it become second nature.

Intermediate Series

Ideal for: practitioners who have truly perfected the Foundation sequence and are ready to go further — deeper backbends, arm balances, inversions, and advanced pranayama, mudras and bandhas. Your teacher will let you know when you’re ready.

How long you’ll grow here: 2–3 years of unhurried deepening across the 94-asana sequence — the practice of a lifetime, not a level to clear.

Published openly · our transparency commitment
See exactly what you’ll practise

We publish both full sequences in their entirety — every posture, pranayama, mudra and bandha — drawn from the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Gheranda Samhita and Goraksha texts. Nothing hidden, nothing invented. Tap a chart to enlarge, or download the printable PDF.

Membership questions
Frequently asked

If you have little or no experience, begin with YogaM, our 21-day foundation. If you already have a regular practice, you can join directly and discuss your level with a teacher.

Naturally, and at no extra cost. Your teacher will let you know when your practice is ready. There’s no test and no application — and you can see the full Intermediate sequence above, so you always know what you’re growing towards.

Pick whichever time suits your day and time zone. The same practice runs at several times — you attend one. The Foundation batches are the place to begin for most members.

Every class is recorded and available to members for a week, so a busy week or some travel needn’t break your practice.

The yoga classes are part of the BYK Sadhaka Membership, which also includes Pranayama & Yoga Nidra, Yoga Sangha, the Gita Circle and the lunar meditations — one fee, both levels. See the membership page for plans and to enrol.
