Why Residential
Yoga is learned by living it

For one month the whole day is arranged around practice and study. You live alongside your teachers, eat sattvic food, and follow the same daily rhythm the Kendra itself follows.

Immersion

The day runs from 5am kriyā to evening practice. There is nothing to commute to and nothing else to manage.

Direct mentorship

Daily guidance in the Yogashala, teaching practice with faculty feedback, and time with teachers outside the classroom.

Community

You study, eat and practise with a small group of committed students, and share in the daily karma yoga of the campus.

Why Study Here
A school of the Nāth Sampradāya

Bharat Yogavidya Kendra belongs to the Nāth Sampradāya, the tradition of Matsyendranātha and Gorakṣanātha that gave the world haṭha yoga. Our founder, Sri M, is an initiated Nāth yogī (Madhukarnāth), disciple of Śrī Maheshwarnāth Bābājī. The practices taught here have been received and preserved within this lineage.

The Nāth texts are the spine of this course.

You will study the Haṭha Yoga Pradīpikā, Gheraṇḍa Saṁhitā and Śiva Saṁhitā with key verses; the Gorakṣa Śataka and Siddha Siddhānta Paddhati of Gorakṣanātha; and the Yoga Cūḍāmaṇi Upaniṣad — texts most 200-hour programmes never open.

Why Online
The full course, from home

Online students study the same curriculum as residential students: all eighteen theory chapters, all twelve practical chapters, and the same Nāth texts, paced over three months.

Daily practice class

A live one-hour āsana class every Monday to Friday, tentatively 5:00–6:00pm IST. Each class is recorded, so you can catch up if you miss one.

Self-study portal

Recordings of every āsana and the full theory curriculum are on the portal. You study these at your own pace.

Saturday live session

A live interactive session every Saturday, where you meet the teachers and clear your doubts.

Good questions

Frequently asked

Every daily practice class is recorded, and the recording is made available to you. The Saturday session is the best place to catch up on anything you missed during the week.

The daily practice class runs 5:00–6:00pm IST, Monday to Friday (tentative). If that doesn’t suit your timezone, you can practise with the recording and bring questions to the Saturday session.
Through the daily live class, where teachers watch and correct you, and through the āsana recordings on the self-study portal, which follow the Foundation Series taught in the practical manual.
Complete the course, submit all four assignments, and pass the final exam. The exam tests your knowledge and understanding of the curriculum.
The same BYK 200 Hr certification — Yoga Alliance RYS-200, IYA registered, AYUSH aligned — issued as an official PDF. A printed certificate is not issued for the online format.
A personal practice helps, but the course begins from the foundations. You do not need to be flexible; you need to be willing to practise daily.

Yes. Online graduates often come for retreats, and many continue into the residential 400 Hr TTC.
