Trataka is a powerful Hatha Yoga purification technique (Shatkarma) that involves gazing steadily at a single point—typically a candle flame. This practice aids in improving mental clarity, reduces anxiety, strengthens the eye muscles and acts as a gateway to deep meditation by quieting the “monkey mind” and awakening the Ajna Chakra (Third Eye).
